BARN AF BYEN

Copenhagen-based rapper KESI makes the city his canvas for New Era’s latest music instalment.

A trip through time reveals KESI’s journey with New Era, from watching old-school music videos as a child to becoming a young cap collector in school to his success as one of Denmark’s biggest rapper/songwriter exports – a New Era cap has always been a permanent fixture.

In the brand’s latest music series, KESI explores his hometown through a bird’s eye view, telling followers where the latest drop will launch in different corners of Copenhagen, a homage to the city and the streets where he grew up. Alongside New Era, the creative has collaboratively worked on two new styles of the brand’s iconic 59FIFTY silhouette featuring the artist’s 888 nickname front and centre, a nostalgic baseball-themed side patch to the right side, and a custom BOC badge clip to the rear referencing one of his biggest hits, all in a deep navy and off-white colourway - a nod to Copenhagen’s contrasting skyline.

KESI not only brings a sense of nostalgia to the new collection but also a deep personal connection through hometown references, nicknames, and links back to his breakthrough 2012 album BOC which all culminate in a drop that epitomizes the rapper’s life and musical journey over the years.
